ペンシルべニア州ピッツバーグ、2023年1月3日 – エンジニアリングシミュレーションソフトウェアにおける世界的リーダーでありイノベーターであるAnsys（NASDAQ: ANSS）は本日、Engineering Simulation and Scientific Software Rocky DEM社（以下、Rocky社）を買収したことを発表しました。この買収により、Ansysは、主要な離散要素法（DEM）ツールであるRocky、および、ブラジル、スペイン、米国の開発者、アプリケーションサポート技術者、顧客対応スタッフからなる熟練したチームを獲得します。この買収によるAnsysの2023年度連結決算に対する影響は軽微である見込みです。

Rocky社は、長期的な AnsysチャネルパートナーであるEngineering Simulation and Scientific Software社（ESSS）の子会社で、離散力学問題のモデリングに特化したエンジニアリングソフトウェアの開発元でした。AnsysによるRocky社の買収は、2021年に発表された両社の長期的なパートナーシップと共同粒子モデリングワークフローを基にしています。GPUコンピューティングとマルチフィジックスシミュレーションへの粒子法の適用に強みを持つソフトウェアであるRockyは、さまざまな業界においてあらゆるサイズと形状の離散固体粒子に関わる用途で幅広く使用されています。

この買収により、Ansysのお客様は、他のAnsysソリューションと強固に統合された強力な高精度粒子モデリングを長期的かつ継続的に利用できるようになり、拡大し続ける離散粒子に関する多様な問題を解決できるようになります。また、Rocky社の技術をAnsysのポートフォリオに統合することで、PyAnsys のフレームワーク内にRocky を取り込むなど、他の手法では実現できないAnsysのポートフォリオ内での長期的なシナジーを促進することができます。
