I have been at Ansys for a year and three months, beginning as a member of the six-person inaugural team at Ansys Rwanda. My career journey began in technical support, and I transitioned to the sales team last year. Before joining Ansys, I was pursuing my master’s in information technology from Carnegie Mellon University in Africa.

How I’d Explain My Job to a Kindergartener

Imagine you’re playing a hidden treasure game. To find the treasure, you need to be creative and build the tools that will help you reach it. I act as a guiding wizard in the game, helping treasure hunters use simulation to create the tools they need to discover the treasure.

What I Actually Do

I work to advance the use of simulation across the African continent. The concept of simulation is relatively new here, and it’s exciting to be part of a team showcasing its power and potential to revolutionize innovation and problem-solving in our daily lives. I am particularly focused on driving the adoption of Ansys in academia.

Why I Choose Ansys

What drew me to Ansys was my deep curiosity about the potential of simulation technology and its transformative impact on Africa. During the interview process, I quickly realized that Ansys would offer me the chance to engage in meaningful and impactful work. The prospect of growth, not just for my career but for individuals across Africa, was a significant attraction.

At Ansys, I have the privilege of interacting with students and professionals who are doing incredible things. I help them understand how simulation can enhance their work, save time, and reduce costs. This firsthand experience allows me to witness the transformative power of our software.

Our ONE Ansys Culture

What stands out to me about the ONE Ansys culture is the unwavering support from everyone around you. It’s a place where you always have a community cheering you on, ensuring that you succeed in everything you do. With this incredible support system, I feel confident in my ability to achieve my goals.

Sense of Belonging

What I find remarkable about Ansys is the friendliness and willingness to help from everyone. Many of my interactions begin with a simple hello and quickly evolve into engaging conversations and new friendships with people from around the globe.

Getting Involved

I am a member of several employee communities at Ansys. These groups have provided me with the opportunity to connect with colleagues from around the world and engage on a more personal level, beyond work-related matters. Additionally, I serve on the alumni committee, collaborating with the communications team to amplify the impact that our alumni have in their respective fields.

Our Shared Values

While all our Ansys values are important, if I had to choose one, it would be “Be Courageous.” This value resonates with me the most, and I strive to embody it every day as we explore new opportunities and tackle challenges. It inspires me to take risks, innovate, and push boundaries in everything I do.

Fulfilling Our Mission

Simulation holds immense potential for young innovators across the continent. By engaging with them and introducing them to Ansys, we empower these bright minds to leverage our tools and drive digital transformation in their countries.

My Best Advice

Don’t hesitate to speak up and ask for help. Ansys can feel overwhelming with its numerous business units and multiple offices, but we truly embody the ONE Ansys culture. At Ansys, you never walk alone.

What You Might Not Know

Despite my fear of heights, I rarely shy away from activities that take my feet off the ground. As someone who once believed I couldn’t run to save my life, completing two half-marathons in 2024 was a highlight of last year. I also enjoy cooking, and in another life I’d probably have been a culinary master. My current obsession is learning the ins and outs of fermentation.

Just for you. We have some additional resources you may enjoy.
