Overview of the Synthesizer Tool in Ansys Granta EduPack Software
Composite and other hybrid materials are becoming commonplace in design, leading to engineers and designers needing to consider them during materials selection. Due to their customizability, it can be difficult to source data for all composite options for a given product. This presentation looks at the Synthesizer tool in Ansys Granta EduPack™, a teaching software for materials education, and how it estimates properties for hypothetical materials. This tool can be used to explore holes in the materials property space of specific plots or to compare structural hybrids and composite materials with traditional engineering materials. It also includes a part cost estimator and a battery module estimator (covered in a lecture unit, linked below). Users can write their own Synthesizer Modules.
