Material Property Manipulation with the Ansys Granta EduPack Software
The properties of materials are dependent on their atomic structure, which can be altered via different processing techniques. All three of these influence the final performance of a material. These slides show examples of how the composition, microstructure, and architecture of materials can be manipulated to achieve better properties. Charts and data from Ansys Granta EduPack™, a teaching software for materials education, can be used to observe these changes, allowing students to further investigate the underlying mechanisms behind these changes.
This lecture can be used alongside “Visualizing New Material Designs with Ansys Granta EduPack” (linked below) for a mechanics of materials, material processing, or design of materials course to help provide context and visualization to improve student comprehension.
