The Virtual Vehicle Research GmbH represents Europe's largest centre for virtual vehicle development in the rail- and automotive sectors by targeting interdisciplinary innovative research for climate-neutral and software-based mobility and transport ecosystems. With its focus on industry-related and applied-research, Virtual Vehicle is an innovation catalyst for future vehicle technologies in the era of digitalization, securing sustainable competitive advantages for its partners.
The research centre cooperates with around 180 international industrial partners (OEMs, tier-1 and tier-2 suppliers and software providers), where partnerships with around 80 scientific institutions form a solid basis for driving innovations for future technologies. Virtual Vehicle is continuously active in about 50+ European research and innovation projects, about 10 are coordinated and 100+ were successfully completed by the centre, and it offers a broad portfolio of contract research for technology development.
With its subsidiary SETLabs Research GmbH in Munich since 2021, Virtual Vehicle established a strategic link to the German research and innovation landscape and ecosystem for pursuing national and cross-border research initiatives.
