FEM Data Streamliner develops code check software to check if the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) complies with international standards. We develop software solutions to facilitate the post-processing of Finite Element Models (FEM).
A straight forward FE model (without modelled built-in tolerances) usually represents an ideal world with flat surfaces, straight stiffeners etc. In this case, for instance, a buckling strength analysis will present too optimistic results. In reality offsets, due to built-in tolerances, will have a major influence on the buckling strength results. Without modelling these in detail, your calculated results with FEM are not very practical. On the other hand, modelling these discrepancies is very time consuming. Over the past decades a lot of literature is written about structures. Why not use this to check FEA?
The software also contains some do’s and don’ts to prevent pitfalls in designs. All these knowhow can be used to safe time in construction designs. The software of FEMDS.COM is a check based on the available literature. It helps the construction designer to make the right decisions without too many iterations. This safes valuable engineering time. FEMDS.COM provides post processing solutions for structures to check whether the construction meets the requirements as laid down in international standards like ISO, EN, AISC etc.
The calculated results from Ansys are used as input to check if it fulfills the requirements. The output is a *.csv file containing a summary of the results. It includes also remarks about design limitations. The outcome is a unity check, which can be read into Ansys to get an overview where the structure needs to be reinforced or where it can be optimized to decrease weight.
