Optimizing Electric Motor Performance with CFD

Design and optimization of high-performance electric machines (e.g., motors and generators) require a multistage process to account for three major performance metrics: electromagnetic, structural/acoustic, and thermal. Traditionally, designs were based on a single physics and were conducted by separate engineering groups. Now, by using a multiphysics and system platform, you can consider all critical design goals simultaneously without compromising solution accuracy.

Getting the Benefits of 3D Physics Accuracy in Fast Electric Machine System Models

Traditional system models have insufficient detail to capture effects needed to push the design envelope. In addition, 3D physics models are too heavy for practical system simulation and complete drive cycle analysis, and they have a steep learning curve for non-experts. Reduced-order modeling (ROM) bridges the gap between 3D detail and fast simulation and makes it easy for non-experts to access detailed results. This webinar will describe the application of Ansys ROM tools to solve electric machine simulation problems.
