As more industries engage in digital transformation, it is clear that an integrated set of solutions is needed to enable collaboration among departments, suppliers and customers. The old, siloed approach to product design and development is being replaced by streamlined workflows where an array of hardware and software needs to work together to foster innovation. At Ansys we have been building an open ecosystem of best-in-class partnerships for many years. Last week, we hosted our inaugural Technology Partner Day in conjunction with Simulation World 2021.
Our global technology partner community assembled for this virtual event to hear Ansys CEO Ajei Gopal’s keynote, “Partnerships and the Power of Simulation.” The two-hour agenda was packed with partner-specific information including our partners’ role in Ansys’ long-term technical vision, presented by Prith Banerjee, CTO; partners’ importance to our product strategy from Steve Pytel, VP Product Management; and my update on the evolution of the Ansys partner program to extend our joint reach via partner-specific go-to-market strategies.
Rick Mahoney, SVP of Worldwide Sales and Customer Excellence, hosted the Customer Success Panel comprised of Ansys technology partners, including:
Ansys embraces an open ecosystem and a partner-centric strategy to provide the most value to customers. The panel provided examples of these benefits from several different perspectives. Mahoney kicked things off by discussing the importance of developing carefully planned go-to-market motions, and gave examples of success stories in co-selling with Ansys to reach new customers.
Microsoft’s Panzano explained the amazing value and advancements for high-performance computing (HPC) that can be realized through Ansys Cloud, which is built on Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform.
PTC’s Williams took us through the company’s journey to democratize simulation via the Creo Simulation Live product, which is enabled by the embedded Ansys Discovery simulation engine.
“By putting more simulation technology in the hands of our designers and engineers, it creates a major product differentiation for PTC,” Williams said of Creo Simulation Live. “We are helping to drastically accelerate the time from concept to release to manufacturing.”
Rockwell’s O’Reilly brought the perspective of a traditional hardware company that has more recently made a broad commitment to adding value via software and in helping their customers with their digital transformations. And ESSS' Reis recounted the value of partnering with Ansys to quickly expand the addressable market available for its amazing Rocky DEM simulation technology.
As Clovis Maliska, Jr., CEO at ESSS said in a recent press release: “Rocky’s integration into Ansys’ workflow extends the power of DEM (discrete element method) analysis beyond design centers and brings simulation into manufacturing, operation and production, enabling companies to optimize the production, transportation and packaging material handling of bulk and discrete particle systems.”
The event closed with our first Technology Partner Awards, presented by Matt Zack, VP Corporate Development and Global Partnerships at Ansys. Award winners included Microsoft for Go-to-Market, HPE for Marketing, PTC for Growth, Intel for Innovation and Motor Design Limited for Acceleration. This was the first set of Partner Awards announced by Ansys at a Partner Day event. We expect that these awards will be eagerly watched in future years, providing a positive way to recognize great mutual achievements.
"We are honored to receive the 2020 Partner Innovation award from our valued partner, Ansys,” said Kirti Devi, Director of Global Alliances, Data Platforms Group, Intel. “Intel and Ansys have enjoyed a strong partnership and engineering collaboration for decades. Working together, we’ve enabled applications such as Fluent to take advantage of Intel® Advanced Vector Extensions 512 (Intel AVX-512) and Intel® Math Kernel Library (Intel MKL) to optimize efficiency and performance for a wide range of CAE users. We look forward to future collaboration with Ansys a worldwide leader in engineering simulation software, and further leveraging Intel’s latest technologies to deliver new levels of performance for Ansys customers."
Microsoft, another award winner at the Technology Partner Event, summed up our shared goals of driving digital transformation: “Ansys is one of our most advanced, innovative and important partners, and we’re so excited by the prospect of driving simulation-led product innovation and transformation globally,” said David Epp, Director, Global Partnerships & Alliances at Microsoft.
"HPE and Ansys have been partners for over 20 years and we have been your Diamond Sponsor for the last 4 years. It was very nice to be acknowledged at this year’s Technology Partner Event," said Tony DeVarco, HPC Manufacturing Segment Manager. "HPE looks forward to working together with Ansys on both a technical and GTM basis for years to come."
Ansys is privileged to have a robust technology partner network that integrates with, extends and provides cloud and HPC infrastructure supporting our entire product line across many industries, strengthening our foundation and partnering with us in emerging high-growth areas, including 5G, autonomous, electrification and the industrial internet of things (IIoT). To be successful in these areas, Ansys enables customers through an open ecosystem of partner solutions.
Thank you to our Diamond sponsors, Microsoft and HPE/AMD, and also our Platinum sponsors Autodesk, PTC, Intel and Rockwell Automation for their partnership and support of Ansys Simulation World.
