Introducing Sustainable Development with the Ansys Granta EduPack Software
This lecture looks at the concept of Sustainable development and highlights relevant aspects to materials teaching. Details of relevant data, including the Sustainability Databases, in Ansys Granta EduPack™, a teaching software for materials education, are shown. The 5-Step Sustainable Development Assessment Process, developed by Prof. Mike Ashby and Dr. Tatiana Vakhitova, is also included in this lecture as a method to investigate proposed developments or designs for sustainability. Additional resources for teaching sustainability concepts alongside with the Ansys Granta EduPack software, including a teaching package for implementing the 5-Step method, can be found linked below and on the Ansys Education Resources site.
