CAPABILITIES

Versatile graphics design and development environment for both embedded HMIs and their behavioral logic

Ansys SCADE Display is used as an HMI display software prototyping and development tool by leading companies in the aerospace, automotive, rail transportation, nuclear, and industrial domains. It is ideally suited to support the design of critical embedded display systems (Multi-Function Displays, Head-Up Displays, Digital Instrumentation, Dashboards and Control Panels, etc.) but also to create schematics (electrical, hydraulic, or plant mimic diagrams), as well as 2-D/3-D simulator displays and trainers for drivers/pilots, crews or maintenance teams.

SCADE Display provides many features that can help you graphically prototype and design your embedded display, so you can quickly create what is needed. Capabilities include advanced modeling features with a user-friendly interface, along with layering, tree structuring and advanced editing features. High quality editing is supported with transparency management, texture management, masks and haloing. SCADE Display also offers integrated font management and extensive widget libraries. You can combine, at the model level, all external OpenGL 2D/3D graphics (legacy code, 3D terrain/maps, 3D objects) with SCADE Display layers.

Ansys SCADE Display is tightly integrated with Ansys SCADE Suite to quickly and easily design and refine both human-machine interfaces and their behavioral logic in a comprehensive development environment. Automated connection between the two programs allows for design-level integration between critical behavioral logic and graphic components.

As part of the Ansys SCADE product family, Ansys SCADE Display can also integrate with Ansys SCADE LifeCycle for complete life cycle management of all HMI software developed in Ansys SCADE Display. You’ll be able to connect application lifecycle management (ALM) tools and set requirements traceability from models. Eliminate one of the most tedious and time-consuming aspects of the design process with LifeCycle’s ability to automatically generate documentation.

SCADE Display represents a powerful visual debugging environment by running simulations based on the actual code generated by the SCADE Display program. Once you describe an HMI design or any of its block, it can be simulated to define stop conditions, set breakpoints and examine internal variables. SCADE Display uses ASCII format to allow its scenarios to be effortlessly integrated into your existing workflow.

With SCADE Display’s powerful design checking capability, you can ensure compliance of display specifications to methodology, naming and graphical design rule. SCADE automates naming and graphics design checks, suggestions and corrections to save time and effort.

Bring out SCADE Display’s maximum potential by pairing with Ansys SCADE Test to support your design with valuable testing activities. You can create and manage test cases, produce test scenarios and define expected results as pictures with inclusion/exclusion zones, and even automate the comparison of expected and actual test results using image comparison techniques.

Code generated by SCADE Display is compact, modular, safe and target independent. That means it can be quickly deployed to virtually all target platforms including Windows, Apple iOS and Android, and also to special embedded target operating systems. With the generator’s super-clean code, you can eliminate most coding errors and even the need for low-level testing, saving you time and effort on steps that were once crucial.

The SCADE Display code generator is a widely qualified development tool. It is supplemented by SCADE Display KCG Certification Kits (themselves qualified under DO-178B & C, EN 50128, IEC 61508 and ISO 26262 standards) that contain complete materials for demonstrating to certification authorities that the code generator meets the most rigorous safety standards. They also provide access to documents you will need as part of the certification process, streamlining and accelerating the time to certification.

With SCADE Display, you can build functional mock-ups and export them for use with our powerful Ansys Twin Builder program and all FMI-compliant simulation tools. Once exported, use Twin Builder or other FMI simulation tools to mirror the conditions of the real asset and optimize your design’s performance and enable predictive maintenance.

Xmobots Group Unmanned Systems

Xmbots develops UAVs for civilian within a number of markets, including agriculture, environmental, security and energy. The Brazilian-based company must comply with aviation certification standards, like DO-178 when developing UAVs for the Brazilian market. This is why they chose to use SCADE as part of their development process. Their development cycle went from 2 years for an entirely hand-codded application to 6 months with SCADE.
