Radiall is a high-tech company, producing complex optical and electrical connectors for demanding service conditions. Every material has different performance requirements, manufacturing and quality standards. Radiall turned to Ansys Granta Selector to meet these challenges so that every materials decision was exhaustive, repeatable and auditable. Balancing competing property requirements (mechanical, thermal and electrical performance) was necessary for developing and improving these components.

Using Ansys Granta Selector, Radiall rapidly identified suitable materials for high-performance electrical connectors. Quick property comparisons to choose the best candidates helped make their materials experts more productive. Simultaneously, they reduced the risk of restricted substances in their products and exported simulation-ready data from the JAHM dataset allowing simulations to be more ‘relevant and accurate’.
