Flying Cleaner Skies and Driving Greener Roads

The electric vehicle (EV) market and the electric aircraft market — projected to reach $567 billion by 2025 and $8.6 billion by 2030, respectively — have sparked an electrification revolution that will make our skies and roads cleaner and greener. Many commercial airlines are focusing on reducing their carbon footprint with emission offsetting programs, and automakers are introducing new EV models at a rapid rate.

While the automotive and aerospace industries are making progress, emission reduction is ultimately up to consumers to take advantage of greener offerings. So, just how mindful are they about their emissions? And are they ready to take action?

Ansys surveyed consumers around the world on their perception of electric cars and aircraft.

To answer these questions, Ansys enlisted Atomik Research and its team of MRS-certified researchers to conduct an survey. The sample included 16,037 adults 18-and-over, from the U.K., U.S., DACH (Austria, Germany and Switzerland), France, Sweden, Japan, China and India.

Dive into the global survey, which asked respondents critical questions, including:

  • Would you pay more for greener air travel?
  • Would you consider flying in an electric airplane?
  • Do you prioritize flying with airlines that help reduce emissions?
  • Are you mindful of emissions related to your travel?
  • When do you see yourself buying an EV?
  • What’s holding you back from buying an EV?
