Model-Based Approach for Automation and Traceability of Validation Activities of ADAS

The complexity and connectivity of modern mechatronic systems like ADAS demand new, model-based approaches for development and validation. We'll present a model-based framework consisting of methods and model interfaces to enable automation and traceability of validation activities in product engineering using ModelCenter.

About This Webinar

Validation is the main activity in product engineering, and a means to gain knowledge about a System-in-Development. Especially for ADAS – Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, validation is significant to ensure driving safety, efficiency, and comfort. Complexity and connectivity of modern mechatronic systems like ADAS demand new, model-based approaches for development and validation. In this webinar, we present a model-based framework consisting of methods and model interfaces to enable automation and traceability of validation activities in product engineering using ModelCenter.

For our work, validation is the understanding according to the IPEK-X-in-the-Loop approach. The framework allows connecting models from different sources to support the formulation and assessment of validation objectives and automating validation activities. A closed loop supports the planning of validation activities, tests and feedback, and traceability of test results to the product creation. This framework describes methods and interfaces for models, test environments, and validation activities for ADAS, more precisely for AEB – Autonomous/Advanced Emergency Braking systems.

What You Will Learn

  • How MBSE supports continuous and traceable development and selection of test cases and test environments
  • How ModelCenter supports bridging the gap between a system model and XiL-test environments
  • How different virtual, physical, and mixed physical-virtual test environments integrate into a model-based framework
  • How MBSE supports the assessment of test results and the derivation of the subsequent development activities
