Cislunar missions have the potential to drive scientific progress, technological innovation, and economic growth, making them an important focus for space exploration in the coming years. Trajectory modeling in cislunar space will play an important role in the success of these missions. Avoiding collisions with other objects in space, optimizing fuel consumption, and ensuring that spacecraft arrive at their destinations on time and on course are just a few objectives of trajectory modeling.
Speakers:
Jim Woodburn, Ansys Fellow & Chief Orbital Scientist
Cody Short, Ansys Principal Astrodynamicist
The trajectory and mission design process in cislunar space can benefit from multibody dynamical systems approaches. This two-part webinar will explore such concepts and discussion focused on the first Earth-Moon libration point mission, ARTEMIS (the follow-up to THEMIS), followed by introducing a rapid prototyping tool.
Join us for Part 2 of the Multibody Cislunar Design: A Tour of Concepts webinar, where we’ll review dynamical systems concepts, including fixed point solutions (i.e., libration/Lagrange points) and periodic orbits.
Join us for an innovative webinar on navigation in lunar and cislunar space. This webinar provides a broad overview of the challenges and best practices for navigation in the cislunar and near-lunar space.
Join us for an engaging webinar on the historical context of space missions in lunar and cislunar space, designed to take you on a journey through the rich history of space missions.
Explore lunar & cislunar motion, orbital mechanics, and gravity, spacecraft trajectories in this insightful primer.
Explore spacecraft libration points and natural motions in this webinar, delving into orbits where objects appear to float freely in space.
Join us for an exciting webinar on exploiting mission experience for lunar and cislunar space operations. This webinar will provide insights into how past mission experiences can be leveraged to understand existing spacecraft missions and plan successful new missions in lunar and cislunar space.
