I joined Ansys six years ago, and it’s been a journey of immense learning and growth. I started in the Ansys Customer Excellence (ACE) consulting team for Europe, the middle East, and Africa (EMEA), where I had a chance to see the full scale of the ACE organization before transitioning to my current role in the Solution Group within the Cloud, AI, Solutions, and Enablement (CASE) business unit.

I started my career as a software developer, but as I evolved in my career, I found my true passion in Agile project management and process improvement. It became clear to me over time that I thrive in roles where I get to collaborate with people and help improve how we work, rather than focusing solely on coding.

How I’d Explain My Job to a Kindergartener

I help teams work together better and have more fun while doing it. Think of me like a coach for a sports team, but instead of playing a game, I help people figure out the best ways to work and solve problems together.

What I Actually Do

As an Agile coach at Ansys, I support various teams and initiatives by assessing their current processes, understanding their context, constraints, and requirements. I help them design and implement better processes to become more Agile and lean, eliminating as much waste as possible so they can achieve more with existing resources. At an organizational level, I lead the Agile Community of Practice, where I provide support through courses, workshops, and webinars for Agile enthusiasts across the company. This helps create a space for discussions and sharing ideas since I can't directly assist every team.

Why I Choose Ansys

Honestly, I didn’t know about Ansys before I joined. But once I started, I was hooked! The products we create, the clients we serve, and the projects we work on are incredible. As a huge fan of the automotive industry and motorsports, I’m still hopeful I'll get the chance to work with some of our motorsport clients. If any teams working with them need support, I’m here!

Our ONE Ansys Culture

The multicultural aspect of Ansys is very unique. I’ve had the opportunity to live a very international life — I’m originally from Brazil, lived in China for seven years attending an international school, studied in the U.S., and now live in France. This international experience has shaped who I am today. One of the biggest strengths of Ansys is its diversity. In any given meeting, I encounter different cultures and ideas, which I find incredibly enriching.

Sense of Belonging

I feel privileged to have a role that allows me to interact with colleagues from all corners of the organization. The more I work here, the more I realize that the individuals at Ansys are some of the best people I’ve ever known. I’ve also been fortunate to have managers and leaders who are incredibly supportive. They’ve always encouraged, challenged, and motivated me while offering a great deal of understanding and empathy for both my personal and professional goals.

Our Shared Values

While all of our Ansys values are important, if I had to choose one, it would be “Be Open.” Openness and transparency lead to better outcomes and solutions. It’s crucial that people feel safe to be open, as this builds trust, helps us identify risks earlier, and creates a better working environment overall.

Fulfilling Our Mission

I’m part of the Empowerment team in the Solutions group within the CASE business unit. Our team focuses on enabling other teams, initiatives, and groups at Ansys in areas such as business agility, DevOps, architecture, and user experience (UX). By doing this, we help our colleagues create better products, further driving the innovation that powers human advancement.

My Best Advice

Go and talk to people, build relationships, and expand your network. Doing this will give you a better understanding of the organization and products and how different teams and business units work. It will immensely help you collaborate with anyone at any level, and you’ll also get to know some truly amazing individuals here at Ansys.

Getting Involved

I lead the Agile Community of Practice at Ansys, where we host various events and courses throughout the year. I create spaces for those working in Agile or who want to work in Agile to discuss challenges, share solutions, and learn from each other.

I’m also part of the leadership team of the Latino Connection employee resource group (ERG), which is an honor as I am originally from Brazil. Being involved means advocating for diversity and inclusion, while celebrating our culture and providing support for fellow Latino employees. I’m proud to be part of a group that uplifts its members, offering mentorship, networking, and community. This work is important to Ansys because it drives inclusivity, bringing diverse perspectives to the forefront and helping create a stronger, more innovative workplace.

Embracing My Culture

Living outside my country, I faced discrimination and encountered people who thought less of me simply because of where I came from. This affected me deeply, and for a time, I tried to hide my Brazilian identity. However, moving to France, discovering a vibrant Brazilian community, and meeting my wife (also Brazilian) helped me overcome those struggles. I now embrace my heritage more than ever, with a deep appreciation for my country, culture, and fellow Brazilians. After the Ansys Rocky particle dynamics simulation software acquisition, I became even more motivated to join the Latino Connection ERG to promote my Brazilian culture.

What You Might Not Know

I’m a huge fan of comedy — whether it’s stand-up, TV shows, or movies, I love anything that makes me laugh! Those who work closely with me know I have a soft spot for funny GIFs. I always had a "dad" sense of humor, which only got worse after my daughter was born.

Like any true Brazilian, I love to barbecue and socialize with family and friends. Eating, joking, listening to music, and enjoying one of my amazing caipirinhas are some of my favorite things!
