I joined Ansys nearly five years ago, starting on the cybersecurity team, where I developed my expertise in protecting digital assets. Later, I transitioned to physical security, using my experience in both areas to strengthen Ansys’ safety protocols.

How I’d Explain My Job to a Kindergartener

Ensuring safety and security is my top priority at Ansys. I help teams work together better and have more fun while doing it. Think of me as the person at the company who makes sure that everyone is safe and sound, just like a superhero who protects people.

What I Actually Do

As a physical security manager at Ansys, I review and create security policies, implement new systems to enhance security and alert employees, assist the legal department with investigations, consult with other teams on security matters, and provide training and awareness programs.

Why I Choose Ansys

I was attracted to Ansys due to its strong potential for growth and advancement. After joining the company, I quickly recognized the deep commitment Ansys has to valuing and supporting its employees.

Our ONE Ansys Culture

The diverse, inclusive culture at Ansys is truly special. I’ve had the pleasure of working with colleagues from various departments and backgrounds, which makes every day exciting and enriching. The friendships I’ve formed here are invaluable, and they make the work environment not just productive but fun and supportive. This sense of community and collaboration is a testament to the strength of our ONE Ansys family.

Sense of Belonging

At Ansys, employees are treated with respect and trust, allowing them to take ownership of their work and contribute meaningfully to the program’s direction. The camaraderie among team members and colleagues from various departments makes the work environment enjoyable and fulfilling. I’ve formed numerous valuable friendships here, for which I am truly grateful.

Our Shared Values

Our business is constantly evolving, and we maintain agility by staying open-minded, embracing change, and continuously learning. Ansys demonstrates genuine care by actively listening to our needs, making our jobs easier rather than harder. While all Ansys values are important, “Be Open” stands out to me. My role involves managing unforeseen events, and the adaptability required to ensure that Ansys is prepared is the most satisfying aspect of my job.

Fulfilling Our Mission

As a member of the security team at Ansys, my primary mission is to ensure the safety and security of our people, facilities, and data. Our team diligently implements robust security measures, conducts thorough policy reviews, and creates comprehensive training programs. By protecting the company’s critical assets, we support the seamless operation of all departments. This enables Ansys to continue delivering exceptional products and services to our customers, driving innovation and maintaining our reputation as a trusted leader in the industry.

My Best Advice

The best advice I can offer is to introduce yourself to as many people as possible. Take the time to understand the roles and responsibilities of other teams. At Ansys, we truly operate as one big family, fostering a collaborative, supportive environment.

Getting Involved

As one of the co-chairs of the Veterans at Ansys employee resource group (ERG), I help promote veteran-related events and bring in speakers to share their experiences. We’ve hosted inspiring talks from a husband-and-wife astronaut couple and, most recently, a Vietnam prisoner of war (POW). These events foster a supportive community and provide valuable insights that enrich our workplace.

What You Might Not Know

I’m a huge animal lover, especially when it comes to cats. My cat, Clyde, is 19 years old and has been with me since my college days. In my free time, I enjoy a variety of hobbies that keep me busy and creative. I love making soap, canning and preserving food, knitting, gardening, and even raising chickens. And here’s a fun fact: I’ve met the rapper Coolio twice.
