Autonomous System Validation

Physically accurate simulation is the only way to validate autonomous vehicle systems in a realistic timeframe.

Rapid Autonomous System Validation

Ansys simulation solutions and safety analysis enable a testing strategy to be defined that includes detailed and realistic world modeling and scenario generation that incorporates high-fidelity sensor simulations. From this, software-in-loop (SiL), hardware-in-loop (HiL) and driver-in-loop (DiL) analyses can be performed.

ASV Simulation Based Sensor Model

Software-in-Loop

Incorporating high-fidelity physics-based sensor models enables open loop software testing, model coverage and verification of the software implementation against key performance indicators and test plans.

Driver-in-Loop

With VR, Ansys provides live interaction between the user, virtual actuators and vehicle embedded software. This captures finger motions and heatmaps, a full cockpit user experience, reflection studies and HUD performance very early in the design process.

Hardware-in-Loop

Ansys provides RTOS independent vehicle and sensor models on real time targets that provide continuity from design to verification, delivering test reproducibility and analysis of edge and worst-case scenarios.

Growing Vehicle Intelligence Requires Collaborative Simulation

As engineers improve every area of a vehicle — whether a software-controlled headlamp experience or technology ensuring sensors can better avoid collisions — simulation proves a crucial step. Only through simulation can engineers discover the success, or possible missteps, of a new technology, both vetting and improving the system in the same step.
