Overview

To ensure mission success, the ground segment must maintain continuous communication with the satellite throughout the spacecraft's operations. During mission analysis and design, engineers must address the everyday challenges of a spacecraft's communications subsystem. They need to tune frequency ranges, power budgets, antenna design, and attitude states throughout the design process to ensure seamless communications during operations.

This satellite communications webinar will discuss a simple link from a ground station to a satellite. We will then build on that link and show how digital engineering techniques can be leveraged to approach more complicated engineering problems. We will discuss phased array design, interference, and the space environment—each of these topics plays a critical role in building a mission’s communications system.

What attendees will learn

  • How digital engineering techniques can be leveraged for complex engineering challenges
  • The role that phased array design, interference and the space environment play in building a communications system
  • How to overcome common challenges with communications systems on a spacecraft

Who should attend

This series is ideal for aerospace engineers, systems engineers, mission planners, and space enthusiasts looking to deepen their knowledge.
