Fundamentals of Thermal Analysis with Ansys Mechanical Software (Self-paced Learning Available)

Course Overview

Is thermal management critical to your design? Are you concerned with the effects of heat loads on structures? If yes, then this is the course for you.

This course will help you to develop the fundamental skills necessary to predict the steady-state response of structures to various thermal conditions. You will learn the end-to-end solution procedure for steady-state thermal analysis and how to incorporate conduction, natural convection, and radiation loads.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of Ansys Mechanical Getting Started is required.

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of the underlying theory for conduction, convection, and radiation heat transfer.

  • Describe the required thermal material properties, the options available for geometry modeling, and the behavior of contact regions.

  • Correctly apply the various available thermal conditions.

  • Perform an end-to-end steady-state thermal analysis to predict the thermal equilibrium temperatures of a structure.
