Course Overview

This course reviews the underlying theory of nonlinear finite element thermal solutions and lays out the end-to-end modeling and solution procedure for nonlinear thermal systems.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of Fundamentals of Thermal Analysis with Ansys Mechanical Software is required.    

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe the underlying mathematical approach to modeling nonlinear thermal systems.​
  • Understand how to set up and solve a nonlinear thermal solution in Ansys Mechanical™ structural finite element analysis software.​
  • Make use of the postprocessing tools that are available for nonlinear thermal results.
