Course Overview
The primary goal of this course is to cover the basics of using the Ansys Polyflow user environment. You will learn the details of how to use the modeling capabilities and move through the simulation process by completing hands-on exercises. Exercises of note include:
2.5D axisymmetric extrusion
2D non-isothermal flow through a cooled die
3D direct (and inverse) extrusion examples
Coextrusion (ALE and species)
Performing simulations with Ansys Polyflow requires, first the creation and mesh of the geometry of the fluid region. Ansys SpaceClaim is used to create geometries and Ansys Meshing is used to create meshes for Ansys Polyflow simulations. To use Ansys Polyflow successfully, you must also learn to use Ansys SpaceClaim and Ansys Meshing and it is strongly recommended to complete training for these products as described below in the Prerequisites section.
Prerequisites
- A technical education and background in fluid mechanics is recommended but not mandatory but an engineering degree is not required.
- This course is designed for clients who have little to no experience with Ansys Polyflow
- Completion of Introduction to Ansys SpaceClaim
- Completion of Introduction to Ansys Meshing
Teaching Method
Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge.
