Getting Started with PyFluent (Self-paced Learning Available)

Course Overview

PyFluent is part of the PyAnsys ecosystem that helps us pythonically launch, interface with and control Ansys Fluent sessions from within any python environment of our choice and to further be used in conjunction with other PyAnsys libraries and external Python libraries.

This course provides a simple and professional introduction to PyFluent. You will learn how to install PyFluent effortlessly and unlock a wide range of amazing features and packages. Overall, you will explore the limitless possibilities and potential that PyFluent offers.

Prerequisites

  • A technical education and background in fluid mechanics is recommended but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Python. 
  • Basic understanding of Ansys Fluent Meshing and Ansys Fluent Fluid Flow Solver. 

Teaching Method

Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge. 

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the concept and benefits of PyFluent in the PyAnsys ecosystem.
  • Install the necessary prerequisites for PyFluent, including Python, Jupyter notebook, and the PyFluent packages.
  • Familiarize yourself with the PyFluent Journaling feature for learning and writing PyFluent commands quickly and efficiently.
  • Understand the two different approaches to writing commands and interacting in a PyFluent session.
  • Explore the three different PyFluent package and its features, gaining a deep understanding of its functionalities and applications.
  • Gain an overview of the 'Fluent Python Console' which is a beta feature introduced in Ansys Fluent version 2023R1.
