Subsystem Level Bulk Current Injection Analysis

Course Overview

This course explores the topic of product’s conducted immunity testing in the presence of unwanted ‘noisy’ RF voltages and currents carried by its external wires and cables. It demonstrates an end-to-end workflow for subsystem level Bulk Current Injection (Open loop/substitution method) analysis according to the guidelines specified in international standard ISO 11452-4 for determining the immunity of electronic components of vehicles.

Prerequisites

  • Prior knowledge of Ansys HFSS design, boundary conditions, excitations, analysis setup and relevant parameters including field quantities are required.
  • Prior knowledge of Circuit Designer.

Teaching Method

Lecture modules, input files, and hands-on workshop.

Learning Outcomes

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Design BCI test setup using HFSS modelling capabilities and leveraging 3D components.
  • Set up calibration of current injection probe.
  • Use Calibrated input for BCI test in presence of both unmodulated (CW) and modulated signal.
