Ansys Electronics Desktop for Filter Design (Self-paced Learning Available)

Course Overview

This course is a detailed workflow with recommendations for using Ansys HFSS, Ansys NuHertz Filter Solutions and SynMatrix to design RF and microwave filters. The course includes sections dedicated to cavity and waveguide filters, lumped element filters and planar filter designs.

Prerequisites

  • Knowledge of Ansys HFSS Getting Started is recommended.

Teaching Method

Lecture slide files, self-paced videos, and hands-on simulation workshops to develop familiarity and productive skill.  A training certificate is issued on completion of the course.

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Synthesize filter responses using the Ansys NuHertz tool.
  • Understand the coupling matrix and how to use it for cavity filter design.
  • Create accurate Ansys HFSS simulations of planar and cavity filters.
  • Understand and implement the port tuning method for filter co-design.
