Course Overview
This course is designed to provide the knowledge about Ansys Additive Prep product. Additive Prep is perfectly integrated in the Ansys additive manufacturing simulation workflow. It comes right after the generation of the optimized part. The solution is integrated in the design tool Ansys SpaceClaim Direct Modeler.
The course focuses on how to use Additive Prep. It shows the workflow inside Additive Prep, from the part import to the export of build files containing all the necessary information for the printing machine and/or for the printing simulation.
The course contains examples to develop your expertise in the product.
In this course, you will learn how to find the optimized orientation to print a part. You will also be trained on how to automatically detect the regions which need support. The way to create and define the supports parameters are presented in the lecture file. You’ll also learn where to input the printing machine parameters for build file generation. Finally, the course presents the additive manufacturing simulation’s next step: export build file and use it in Workbench Additive or in Additive Print products.
This course teaches you where to define the supports parameters, how to define the machine parameters. It requires that you already know which parameters you are going to use, which support shape you need. This usually is something that the experience will tell you.
Prerequisites
- A technical education and a background in the fundamentals of additive manufacturing is required.
- Printing process and the use of 3D printing machines, as well as defining the printing parameters is strongly recommended.
Teaching Method
Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge. A training certificate is provided to all attendees who complete the course.
