Railways Digital Safety
Today's Automated Train Control Systems are seen as a solution to achieve maximal utilization of the railways infrastructure, however, there is a big challenge to maintain safety for goods and persons. Therefore, regulatory bodies have standardized the way systems have to be developed to ensure that railways systems are safe when deployed. In this seminar we will point to the challenges faced when developing Train Control Systems. We will describe how these challenges are addressed using Ansys tools and methods. Finally, a customer case will be presented to illustrate the reduction of effort and risk by using Ansys Certified tools.
Rail transportation in one of the most efficient and sustainable ways to carry millions of commuters comfortably and quickly. The European Commission has declared 2021 as the European Year of Rail. The European Green Deal aims to achieve a 90% reduction in transport emissions by 2050. According to Aberdeen, the best-in-class companies use simulation at all stage of product development, that help them to decrease number of physical prototypes by 11%, save 14% on external failure costs and have 21% greater year-over-year increase in operating margin.
