Early Melanoma Detection: How Liquid Lenses Solve Optical Challenges

Melanoma is one of the most aggressive cancers that can be diagnosed at an early stage. The EU-funded project iToBoS (Intelligent Total Body Scanner for Early Detection of Melanoma) aims at developing an AI diagnostic platform for early detection of melanoma. The platform includes a novel total body scanner and a Computer Aided Diagnostics (CAD) tool to integrate various data sources such as medical records, genomics data and in vivo imaging.

The goal of the full-body scanner is to take hundreds or thousands of high-resolution pictures covering the patient's whole body quickly and create a complete avatar in which the doctors can zoom in to see the details.

What Attendees Will Learn

  • Explain the imaging requirements of the full-body scanner
  • Show liquid lenses features and demonstrate how their compactness and fast focusing capabilities made them the best solution to the optical challenges
  • Show the integration design of the lenses in a new camera and model its optical performance with the support from Ansys software

Who Should Attend

Optical Engineers, Optical Designers

Speaker

Tania Nemirovsky, Marketing Manager, Optotune
