Going Beyond Point Tools for ISO 26262 Functional Safety

Engineers have performed safety analysis to address the functional safety requirements of ISO 26262 for many years. Point tools are leveraged to execute hazard and risk analysis (HARA), functional hazard assessment (FHA), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), failure modes, effects and diagnostic analysis (FMEDA) and fault tree analysis (FTA). Microsoft Excel remains the most popular tool, but there are also specific tools like Fault Tree+, PTC Windchill, RAMS Com. and IQ FMEA.

These point tools generate common errors due to the lack of traceability and the inability to handle multiple design iterations. Additionally, safety analyses are not based on the actual system design and the analysis is not model-based. Along with these errors, the use of point tools alone creates incredibly inefficient, time-consuming and expensive results.

This webinar spotlights how Ansys medini analyze enables you to effectively meet ISO 26262 safety requirements faster and more efficiently. Learn how to perform safety analysis and design for E/E systems and software-controlled functions with specific templates for ISO 26262. Discover how medini analyze supports operational situation analysis, HARA, FHA, FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, FMECA probabilistic reliability analysis and hardware failure metrics — and much more!.
