Ansys 2020 R2: Ansys Fluent Update
We continue to improve workflows in Ansys Fluent and add new capabilities and innovative features to accelerate innovation and productivity. Learn about all the updates from pre-processing to new physics models and workflow improvements, including the following enhancements:
Pre-processing and usability enhancements
- Start from an existing surface mesh in the watertight geometry workflow
- Apply local sizing on labeled edges
- The fault-tolerant workflow now supports poly-hexcore and hexcore volume mesh and parallel meshing
- Select wild card options for filtering list items
- Take advantage of expressions plotting and usability enhancements
- Ansys GRANTA Materials Data for Simulation (MDS) library now available
- Easily plot material properties
Batteries
- Use the streamlined CHT setup to reduce mistakes
- Apply the capacity fade model to accurately predict discharge rates
- Use the aging model to predict capacity reduction due to calendar and cycle life
Other Enhancements
- A new generalized two phase (GENTOP) flow model is available for multiphase regime transitions
- Improvements have been made to increase VOF robustness
- Fluent's free shape optimization (adjoint) solver now uses the cutting-edge GEKO turbulence model to provide more accurate shape sensitivity
- The validated Method of Moments (MoM) soot model has been added for reliable trend prediction of soot formation
And much more!
