Modern Thermal Management Methods for Improved Reliability and Power Density

Abstract: Modeling methodologies for automotive electric motor thermal management will be discussed. Topics cover air cooled, water cooled, and oil cooled electric motors. State-of-the-art solutions for multiphysics coupling will be discussed including two-way, spatially varying data transfer between electromagnetic and thermal solvers. Additionally, usage of simulation-generated  reduced order models in e-powertrain system modeling will be covered.
