CAESES® focuses on automation. The creation of new geometry variants is fully automated and 100% robust, thanks to the dependency-based modeling approach, as opposed to the history-based approach of other modeling systems. All generated geometries are clean, watertight and they come with fixed patch IDs. This is essential for repeating processes such as automated meshing for new geometry candidates.
CAESES® models have less parameters, which finally saves computational time in optimization processes. Engineers can also build design constraints into their CAESES® geometry model, such as cross-sectional areas, minimum distances to keep, manufacturing constraints, hard points, etc. This ensures that only feasible designs are created during optimization runs.
CAESES® can be integrated into the Ansys Workbench by using the CAESES® Geometry Engine App, which can be found in the Ansys App Store. This allows Ansys users to robustly run automated design studies without any scripting. The integrated optimization methods of Ansys and tools such as optiSLang can be coupled to the parameter set of CAESES® models with just a few clicks.
