Simple Approximation of Fluid Flows using Ansys Fluent

This teaching package covers how Navier Stokes equations can be transformed into simplified versions for certain flow problems by using assumptions like reduced dimensionality, incompressibility, inviscid and irrotationality. These simplified equations can then be solved to obtain analytical solutions. It also includes simulation examples using Ansys Fluent to demonstrate these concepts.

Learning Outcomes

  • Learn about different approaches and assumptions used to simplify and solve governing equations
  • Understand incompressible and inviscid flows
  • Learn about potential and types of potential flows
  • Solve simple fluid flow problems using Ansys Fluent
