Introduction to Engineering Design using Ansys Discovery
This teaching package is an introduction to simple CAD and simulation methods in engineering, no prior experience necessary. The package contains six lessons to be completed in sequence. Each lesson has a set of lecture notes made in PowerPoint and a corresponding set of geometries made in Ansys Discovery. By the end of the series learners should be competent in constructing simple 3D models and performing simple simulations.
Learning Outcome
- Understand the fundamental direct modeling tools used to create and edit geometries
- Understand the processes used to conduct simple thermal and (static) structural simulations
- Understand the mechanics of a simple cantilever beam simulation in Ansys Discovery
