Eco Design and the Eco Audit Tool within the Ansys Granta EduPack Software
Understanding the impact a material’s life cycle can have on product design choices is a key skill for the engineers of today. Ansys Granta EduPack™, a teaching software for materials education, has been designed to support introducing students to life cycle thinking. This lecture presentation showcases the eco data available for materials selection as well as introduces the Eco Audit Tool, a streamlined Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) to help quickly guide decision making during the design process. Details on the product life-cycle, eco design performance index derivation, comparison of products over life cycle, and different eco-performance strategies are also shown.
