Design and Simulation of Microstrip Patch Antenna and 2D Array in Ansys HFSS

In this lab tutorial the steps of creating a microstrip patch antenna design using the HFSS Antenna Toolkit are explained. The patch antenna is then analyzed and the method how to generate the plots of input impedance and gain is explained.

The tutorial extends to the creation of a 2D microstrip array creation using the single microstrip patch antenna as array element. The array performance is then compared to the single element performance.
