Reliable and efficient calculations are required to use fluid dynamics predictions for engineering design optimization. ANSYS fluid dynamics software uses industry-leading numerics to solve fluid flow equations. A variety of solver methods and numerical schemes are available to ensure that the calculations are both efficient and result in accurate predictions. The technology includes finite-volume solvers using both coupled and segregated methods for general fluid flow modeling as well as a finite-element solver for viscous flows of complex fluids. Fully unstructured grids can be used with all common cell types including polyhedral meshes. Solution-based mesh adaption can be used to further improve prediction accuracy.
